About Us
Care with a heart
Jemini Response is a small local community-based service for residents with Autism and learning Disabilities.
We focus on choice, empowerment and dignity by improving life chances and creating opportunities.
We support and care for residents both emotionally and physically, in their home. We never forget that this is their home, we are just visitors, allowed to share their days.
And, we do get emotionally attached, because we care!
Our philosophy is… ‘you’re going to spend a lot of hours with this person and we’d rather you cared about them.’
Staff are trained in behaviour support, given a comprehensive understanding of Autism psychology and theory-based strategies.
Professional care… with a heart
“… we really encourage empowering choice and independence… we encourage the residents to do as much as they can with our support.”
Our background
Founded in 2002, Jemini Response began its journey with a small, three-bed home dedicated to children with learning disabilities and autism. Over the years, our commitment to providing exceptional care has driven us to expand our services. We added a four-bed children’s home and a six-bed home, continually enhancing our ability to support more individuals.
As the children in our care matured into adulthood, we re-registered our homes to ensure they could continue living in a familiar, supportive environment, seamlessly transitioning from childhood to adult care without disruption.
James Edwards, our founder, has been dedicated to this community since 1993. His journey began with Camp America, followed by roles ranging from carer to management in social services and privately run children’s homes. His extensive experience and unwavering dedication are at the heart of Jemini Response.
Today, we take pride in our innovative, person-centred care approach that significantly enhances the quality of life for our residents. Our commitment to care remains steadfast, reflecting every aspect of our service, and ensuring that each individual feels valued and at home.
CQC Rating
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. It ensures health and social care services provide people with ‘safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care.’ It monitors, inspects and regulates services, to see that companies like ours are:
-
-

… and we’re pleased to say, all our homes are rated ‘good’, demonstrating our continuing commitment to our residents. We treat those in our care with ‘compassion, kindness, dignity and respect’, supporting them to live their best lives.
Staffing
At Jemini Response, all staff are trained in PBS and person-centred care.
This is a skilled profession and we maintain high standards to protect both the residents and the people who work here.
Our Mission
Our aim is to provide a safe, secure and enriching home for life, for adults with Autism and learning disabilities. To provide a caring environment which allows these adults to grow and increase their independence, enjoying their life to the maximum.
We make sure our residents are protected from all forms of abuse, financial, physical and emotional – it’s a responsibility we take very seriously.
