Time for Celebration!

Earlier this month, Stephen spent a morning at No 41 preparing for Mother’s Day. He picked out a Peppa Pig card especially for his mum, Kim, writing it himself.

While over at Summerheath, residents and staff joined Sammy in celebrating Eid ul-Fitr. There were banners wishing everyone “Eid Mubarak,” or “Blessed Eid” and sweet treats and gifts were shared to mark the end of Ramadan.

Fun in the kitchen

Cooking is an important part of everyday life at Jemini. It can be a great way to support focus and confidence, while also bringing a sense of achievement… and something delicious and rewarding to look forward to!

It’s an activity that many of our residents love to take part in, especially Harry, who’s been whipping up his famous chocolate crispy cakes – a firm favourite with everyone here! 🍫🥣

Stephen has also been busy in the kitchen, making a chocolate cake for everyone to share and enjoy.

He also made French toast for breakfast. He prepared the batter, carefully dipped the bread in, making sure not to soak it too much so it didn’t go soggy, then he cooked it in a frying pan until golden, before sitting down to enjoy it! He really earned his breakfast, learned so much… and had fun!

Out & About with Stephen

March was a busy time for Stephen, not only inside, but out, with lots going on and plenty to smile about. He’s been keeping active and spending his days doing things he enjoys.

Off to the Shops…

Stephen enjoyed going into Lush, where he smelt all the different scents and chose himself some shower bombs and a skincare set in the scent of sticky dates! He then went off to get himself some new sliders, ready to embrace the sunny weather!

Off to the cinema…

Stephen and Charley went to see Hoppers at Cineworld, the a movie about Mabel, who goes undercover in the animal world… Stephen even bought a new Hoppers themed cup for the occasion.

Many of our residents enjoy trips to the cinema and you can read more on their outings and view photos from their experiences in our ‘Out & About… at the Cinema’ blog.

Off to the swimming pool…

Stephen and Charley also went swimming at the Sovereign Centre Eastbourne. They wanted to explore the changes to the pool… and they weren’t disappointed! There’s an underwater-themed interactive wall, a waterwheel with a tipping bucket and water jets, so he couldn’t wait to get into the water!

Stephen also fitted in more ten pin bowling, which he really loves – it’s an activity many of our residents enjoy, and you can read more about their trips here – and while there, made time to play a game of air hockey!

… and then there were the weekly visits to Sweet Circus to fit in!

I wonder what adventures await for Stephen and the rest of the Jemini residents next month!…
