Going out is an important part of our resident’s day… be it a trip to the shops or library, perhaps to a café or a walk around a park. There are 220 acres to enjoy at Ashburnham and Harry and Adam often wander around Broad Water Lake experiencing the stillness of the water.

And there’s nothing quite like hot chocolate after a stroll in the Orangery Tea Room, which, as you can see, is a particular favourite of Harry’s!

The Orangery, originally designed in 1777 by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, is a sight to behold and home to many plants, including we’re told, one of the country’s oldest camellias.

The Orangery is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30am – 4.00pm… and they make cakes and bread onsite in their Bakehouse, so definitely the place to go after a walk!
