September brought a visit to one of our residents’ favourite places… Wheels for All. This inclusive cycling program provides adapted bikes, making cycling accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of ability. It’s always a highlight for our residents!

Stephen and Sammy had a lot of fun cycling round the track in the warm sunshine. Cycling helps individuals with autism in so many ways… it’s good for building confidence, improving balance and coordination, and the benefits to mental and physical health are numerous.

It’s all about the bubbles!

Stephen went off to Bubble Planet this month… and what a day he had! He caught the train to London with Lisa and headed to Wembley for a day of bubble fun!

Read all about his adventures, the rooms he visited and how bubbles can be a fun sensory experience for all! 😊

Traffic Light Cards

Staff have spent some time assembling ‘traffic light cards,’ a communication tool we use with our residents.

These help us communicate visually the beginning, middle and end of activities by showing red, amber and green cards.

A big thank you to Barkston Plastics Engineering Ltd for cutting and shaping the plastic pieces, which are making a huge difference in helping our staff and residents communicate more effectively. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Workiversary!

And this month, we celebrated Amanda’s 20th anniversary!

She started as a Night Support Worker in 2004 and is now the Deputy Manager in Hailsham – what an achievement!

Well done, Amanda! We truly appreciate your commitment and dedication over the years. Thank you for everything you have contributed to our team, and for continuing to make a positive impact.

What a way to end the month!
