Well June was unexpected! We thought we’d have some nice days, but they far outweighed the bad and June was, according to The Met Office, the warmest since records began… and our residents certainly took advantage of the sunny days!
Out and About…
We’ve often said how valuable it is for our residents to get out and about – every trip brings new sights, sounds, and moments to enjoy, and June was full of them!
Ellie went to the park… and straight on the spinning bowl – it’s fantastic for improving balance and coordination… and what’s more they’re great fun! You can see for yourself how much she enjoys it – just click on the video below 😊
Meanwhile, Harry made a new friend while out on a walk 🐱 and Michael went to visit his mum and brother. He enjoyed a lovely lunch in the garden and they spent some quality time together.
At Jemini, we ensure our residents’ families are a part of their journey, sharing updates, photos and videos of their adventures and day-to-day activities. We organise catch-ups at home, on shopping trips, or even in the park – always wherever and whatever works best for our residents.

Fun… on the Bikes
Cycling is a brilliant and fun activity for our residents, whether along the many routes around Jemini or enjoying the Wheels for All initiative.
Cycling offers so many benefits – not just for the body, but for the mind too. It helps improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen muscles, and develop motor skills, enhancing both coordination and balance. Beyond the physical, cycling has a powerful impact on mental health, helping to reduce anxiety, boost concentration, and sharpen focus. And of course, like all exercise, it releases endorphins – those natural mood lifters that promote a sense of wellbeing and happiness!

Wheels for All is a fantastic programme which embraces adults and children with disabilities, making sure cycling is truly inclusive for everyone.

Harry with Laurinda and Obi at Wheels for All

Whether on three wheels or four, solo or side-by-side, our residents always have support along for the ride 😊
Fun… on the Beach
Sunny days call for trips to the beach – walking along the seafront, paddling in the water, breathing in the fresh sea air – there’s nothing quite like the seaside.
Our residents love their trips to Bexhill, Eastbourne and Hastings – you can read all about them in our By the sea blog.

Fun… at Home
Not all the fun happens out and about – there’s plenty to enjoy at home too! Whether our residents are relaxing, getting creative, or joining in with games and activities, it’s all about what makes them feel comfortable and happy. For those who can make their own choices, we always respect their preferences. And for those who may be unsure or unable to decide, we’re there to gently support them in discovering activities that bring enjoyment every day.

Ellie’s Mystery
Ellie had a puzzle to solve this month… Dora her pet monkey, went exploring… but where? She’d gone walkabout, we looked everywhere for Dora, but she’d been on an adventure – find out where!

Harry rounded off the month with a trip to the bowling alley – it was a bit cooler inside than out!
Bowling is a great activity for our residents… it allows them to play alongside others, to be part of a team and to learn how to take it in turns And, the repetitive actions provide comfort and predictability, and of course, the added bonus is seeing the pins fall down!

A great way to end off a busy month… can’t wait to see what July has in store!
