It was a record-breaking March for sunshine, the sunniest since March 1929 according to the Met Office, and our residents certainly made the most of it!
Ellie at Hampden Park
Ellie made a few trips this month to one of her favourite places, Hampden Park in Eastbourne. It first opened in 1902 and is home to a variety of sporting activities, from tennis to BMX, bowls to skate ramps… but it’s the swans and the playground which always capture Ellie’s attention.
After a walk around the pond, you can wander through the arboretum and history garden, where the trees and border plants are laid out to show how the plants first arrived in Britain. There’s also an aromatic herb garden which produces a fantastic combination of scents… and we always end our visit in the playground 😊

Out and about with Harry
Harry has been busy, he’s managed to fit in a round of mini golf, a trip to the beach, to the Cuckoo Trail… and to the park!

The Cuckoo Trail runs 11 miles from Polegate to Heathfield (with a 3-mile extension to Shinewater Park in Eastbourne) and gives our residents access to beautiful countryside, not far from our doorstep.
Originally a country railway carrying milk, coal, timber, livestock… and passengers, it was a victim of the Beeching cuts and the track was torn up. The trail runs along the route of the railway and has benches where you can sit and take a moment, which you can see Harry doing with Gez 😊

Imran & Sam… at home and out exploring!
Imran and Sam have also been out and about, Imran went for a walk in the sun, and Sam went on an adventure with Gowri on the bus…

… but there’s nothing quite like relaxing in the garden and just chillin’ which Ellie also made time for!

Eid Celebrations
We wrapped up the month with our Eid celebrations, as Ellie and Sam joined Imran to mark the end of Eid with a festive takeaway. All the residents of number 52 enjoyed a meal of their choice to mark the occasion together.
Why not take a tour of 52 and you can find out more on our residents and Jemini.

Let’s hope the weather keeps improving next month, giving our residents the chance to enjoy the sunshine with even more trips to wonderful places.
