May brought a real taste of Summer for our residents with learning disabilities in our residential homes in Hailsham and Eastbourne. There were plenty of opportunities to get out and about and enjoy the warmer weather.

Park Life!

Sunny days are just perfect for picnics, and Stephen and Ellie enjoyed theirs in the park.

In fact, Stephen had so much fun, he went back for more He packed his cool bag, complete with pasta lunch and a nice cold drink 😊

Sammy had his park picnic in Egerton Park in Bexhill-on-Sea. He bought a rainbow cookie from the café there and found a bench overlooking the boating lake, watching the ducks and swans😊

There’s 20 acres to wander around, yet it’s close to the seafront, as well as the town centre. There are paths and trails to explore, through the wooded area and around the lake, which is exactly what Sammy did – explore!.. but after eating his cookie!

He had such a good time, he went back again with Michael for more of the same 😊

Matthew ended up in the park too… walking off his picnic! While Stephen and Aravindh hopped on the bus to Tesco to grab a meal deal. Lunch for two in the fresh air sounds pretty great to us!

Here, there and everywhere!

Matthew paid Hastings Aquarium  a visit. Here he is with Leah and Tasha in the underwater tunnel, surrounded by fish… and sharks!

Take a look at our blog Out & About… Hastings Aquarium to read more on our residents’ trips there 😊

While Matthew was in Hastings, Michael was in Chertsey, enjoying a lovely sunny day at Thorpe Park. He spent another memorable day on the rides… and of course, the trampoline!

Sammy on Holiday

It was Sammy’s turn to visit Jemini’s holiday caravan at Combe Haven Holiday Park for a mini break. He spent a lovely few days enjoying being by the seaside and having fish and chips!

At Home

Tom and Tomasz took a turn on breakfast duty. Bread, butter and jam were on the menu to get things started!

While Tom was in the kitchen, Michael headed to the shops to pick up the ingredients for dinner, starting with some diced beef. He also added bananas and apples to his basket to make a fresh fruit salad for dessert on his return home – and it was very tasty!

You can head over to our YouTube channel to see our residents cooking meals and relaxing at home.

After all his trips out, Matthew spent some relaxing afternoons colouring in his favourite Peppa Pig characters🐷 It was a lovely way for him to unwind and enjoy some quiet time at home, and a great way for us to end our look at a busy May!
